  1. The Four Tones with The Penny Rockets

    Very rare single combining vocal group the Four Tones with Adelaide’s “first rock band”. Released on a short-lived subsidiary label of the youth magazine. This is the B-side; the A was a version of Tennessee Stomp which made #6 locally.
  2. The Taymen

    Philips BF-65 1963 
    A fine surf instrumental, this now rare single was the band’s final release. It was also their biggest hit, reaching #7 in Adelaide.

    Cover of a Sorrows track (UK freakbeat band that included Don Fardon), this was the B-side of the Syssys’ Jump Back single.

    Raven RVLP 08 Recorded 1967, released 1982 
    Taken from the Twilight Time LP and recorded at Festival Hall, Melbourne as support act to The Easybeats' 1967 homecoming tour. The Twilights did not officially record Night Of Fear, originally by The Move.
  7. Inkase

    Sweet Peach SP-003 1969 
    Originally called Rob'n'Robin & the Batmen, Inkase recorded two singles; this Small Faces song was the A-side of the first. It was not a hit. An earlier member of the band was singer Steve Foster who later became a solo artist and recorded for the Bootleg label.

    The first recording group for Graeham Goble, with the B-side of their only single Hey Bulldog. His previous band The Silence recorded an album and EP but these were never issued. TWH bassist James Rattray later worked with Jon English among others.
  9. Alison Gros

    Previously unreleased 1971 
    TWH transformed into Alison Gros who performed this song for TV station NWS-9, most likely for the show Move, though they never committed it to vinyl. Of course, the band changed to Mississippi then went to worldwide fame as LRB.

    Short but raucous Little Richard styled song; the B-side of their second and final single Good Old Rock’n’Roll [Obscured 12].

    Unsuccessful single from 1972 BC, the only album by the short-lived duo of Daryl Cotton & Beeb Birtles, fresh from the Zoot. Produced by Brian Cadd who also performs along with Phil Manning, Barry Harvey etc.

    From their only LP A Song For Tooley. Headband included future Fraternity member Mauri Berg and future Angel Chris Bailey - who had also played in Red Angel Panic but not on the single on this volume!

    Sphere 300/2 1974 
    More future Angels - Doc Neeson and the Brewster Brothers with friends; this unsuccessful single was their second and final recording until a reformation in the early 90s.

  16. Tidewater

    The opening track to their only LP Wild Horse Plains, the first musical venture for Greg Champion. Guitarist Graham Davidge went on to work with Goanna and LRB among others.
  17. Andy Upton

    After a couple of less successful singles, this cover version made #1 locally and #54 nationally. Produced and arranged by Robie G Porter, with “concept by Andy Upton & Tony Fossey.” Fossey played keyboards and later joined Mike Rudd & The Heaters.

    Formed from the remnants of Fraternity, with the (most probable) line-up of Bruce Howe, Uncle John Ayers, Mauri Berg and John Freeman, with violinist Peter Bersee. This may be from a demo tape, or possibly a radio session.

    From the self-explanatory 5MMM Compilation Album Of Adelaide Bands 1980; vocals by Jade D'Adrenalin. They also recorded a few demos but otherwise did not have any other official product.

    The other side of Baby You Flirt [Obscured 24]; their only single. The label gives this as the A side while the cover disagrees. Bassist Mark Cornwall had previously played with Smokestack Lightning.
